Mission
The mission of CASA Youth Music Resources, Inc. is to provide a safe & nurturing environment to promote and support music education to at-risk youth, increasing their ability to succeed.
Board of Directors
Adam Hathaway - Chairman of the CASA Board of Directors, is an Energy Conservation Specialist for Lobo Energy, Inc. which coordinates the University of New Mexico's energy conservation program. He also serves as the President of the New Mexico State Association of Parliamentarians, Hospital Coordinator for the Albuquerque Shrine Center and is a strong supporter of the USMC Toys for Tots program.
Hon. Jonathan L. Ibarra - Vice Chairman, is a former District Court Judge and currently serves as a criminal defense attorney in Albuquerque, NM. He has served on two standing committees, including as Chair of one committee, which reports directly to the N.M. Supreme Court, and was also on a special ad hoc committee reporting to the N.M. Supreme Court to draft legal solutions to the outcome from a United States Supreme Court decision regarding a New Mexico case. He was an adjunct professor for 2.5 years for the UNM School of Law. Judge Ibarra has also spent over 17 years as an officer, including president, for a 501(c)(3) organization at the college, local, regional, and multi-national levels, including over 7 years on a committee reporting to the Board of Directors, and appointment to a separate ad hoc committee also reporting to the Board of Directors. He also spent several years as an officer of other charitable organizations, including president.
Benjamin Zimmerman - Treasurer, holds a Bachelors Degree of Art in Biology from the University of New Mexico with a minor is studio art and music. An active musician in percussion and have past training in brass instruments and music composition.
Marjorie Ibarra, MS, CCC-SLP - Secretary, spent several years as an officer for 501(c)(3) organization at college and local level, including local vice-president. She currently has a Masters in Speech Language Pathology, and has worked for the public school system since 2006 conducting assessments to diagnose and treat speech, language, fluency, and cognitive communication disorders. She has experience working with children age 5-21, with such diagnoses as Autism, Intellectual Disability, Cerebral Palsy, Apraxia of Speech, Learning Disabilities, Speech and Language Impairments, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Hearing Impairment.
David Brown – Active player and teacher of percussion instruments.
James David Hamilton – Masters in music. Teaches orchestra. Plays in numerous bands, with many instruments.
